QuikCal has been acquired by MOCA Systems, Inc. (MSI), the provider of Touchplan by MSI®

We are thrilled to announce that QuikCal, which began as a first-year design project at Duke University, has reached a new milestone! Our journey has deepened our understanding of the construction industry, and we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders like Skanska and Samet Corporation, learning valuable lessons from our pilots, such as the Wake County Public Health Center project with Project Director Paul Kelker.

As co-founders of QuikCal, we’ve:
– acquired our first customers,
– raised funding,
– designed and iterated our product from the ground up,
– pitched to venture capitalists,
– hired talented employees,
– and conducted in-depth customer interviews as part of the NSF I-CORPS program,

all while juggling our engineering coursework!

As graduation approaches, we want to extend our deepest thanks to:
Amy Ryan Linnane, Director of Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Melissa & Doug Entrepreneurs
Steven McClelland, Director of the Christensen Family Center for Innovation
– Our industry advisors, Evan Reilly and Andrew Piland
– The NSF I-Corps Hub Mid-Atlantic Region
– Our invaluable intern from last summer, Will Zakielarz

It’s exciting to collaborate with the MSI software engineering team to integrate our application into the Touchplan cloud. Thanks to Daniel Quaroni and Brett Adamczyk at MSI — we look forward to bringing our work to a broader audience and continuing to innovate in the construction tech space!

“This is a big step in aiding the transition from analog to digital planning,” said Brett Adamczyk, President of MSI’s Software Division. “They’ve brought their vision from concept to code with impressive clarity and focus to deliver tangible efficiencies on real-world construction projects. The team has shown remarkable entrepreneurial traits in identifying a real-world pain point and developing an applicable technology solution for construction professionals.”

Touchplan is the leading planning intelligence platform for large, complex construction projects and enables powerful data-driven decisioning by developers, architects, and contractors around the world.
