This summer, I worked at General Motors in Detroit, MI, advancing test automation for software-defined vehicles. I developed Python scripts to automate testing for Level 4 Virtualized ECU software and I/O using software-in-the-loop (SiL) methodologies. I also created test cases aligned with system engineering requirements and vehicle schematics, ensuring software functionality met design goals.
By collaborating with five teams, I identified delays in test case development caused by coordination and visibility issues. To resolve this, I proposed a streamlined Jira process to improve task tracking and inter-team communication, which was well-received by engineering leadership.
Outside of work, I explored Detroit and got to experience some amazing highlights. I visited Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum, learning about automotive history, and attended the Detroit Grand Prix, witnessing high-speed action up close.
This summer gave me the opportunity to develop technical skills, optimize workflows, and enjoy the vibrant culture of the Motor City.
